The 2003 season is right around the corner. I'm planning on changing over to a Powerglide this year.

My goals for the season are; Getting the car consistent, averaging .525 lights, and keeping the car running in the mid 11's in the quarter and in the low, low 7's in the eight mile. I want to win at least 2 races and win over $1000 without breaking any major parts. I know it sounds just like last year... But if I can accomplish these goals, I should be able to start working on a new motor for next season, this will be the 5th season on the engine.

Working on building the Powerglide. I now have a 1972 Powerglide 1.82 gear set out of a 4 door Chevelle. Parts so far; New TCI Pro Tree Transbrake, Sonnax forward clutch hub 28304, Used TCI deep alum. pan, MSD RPM Switch, Moroso Transbrake Switch 710-74123, Used Electric Shifter Solenoid, Modified race ready Pump w/ hardened stator, Sonnax High Gear Clutch Drum, Hardened turbo spline input shaft, Rebuild Kit including a Kevlar "Race Only" band.

The case is apart being cleaned and trimed, all I need to do now is set it up for the transbrake. More pictures of the build up soon.

As soon as the weather breaks, I'm going to pull the TH 350 and convertor out so I can send the convertor back to Coan to get freshened up.

Pacemakers Dragway Park - Test & Tune and Gamblers Race - First win of the year in the 2nd Gamblers race. Working on my lights and trying a couple things with the shock settings.

This new Powerglide is doing the trick, just check out how consistent my E.T.s are. I ran on my dial 3 out of 5 passes that I dialed the car. One other thing that I have learned, don't buy race gas unless it out of a drum. I switched back to VP Red and that has also helped me be more consistent. Just look at my times from 4/13/03, that was using race gas from a pump. I was also using VP Red on 4/5/03 too.
