The 2002 season is right around the corner. I'm planning on up grading the brake with a new master cylinder, putting in a tranny temp gauge, and doing something with the air intake to the carb.

My goals for the season are; Getting the car consistent, averaging .530 lights, and keeping the car running in the mid 11's in the quarter and in the low, low 7's in the eight mile. I want to win at least 2 races and win over $1000 without breaking any major parts.

The trailer in now painted, many thanks go out to Mike Wright for all his help!

Well I put in the new master cylinder and took out the factor proportioning valve. Also, install a Trans Temperature gauge and a Tornado (more to come on the Tornado after I test it.)

Test & Tune at Pacemakers Dragway Park, the new master cylinder is working great. My lights are still there from last year. I did learn one thing! I lost the first round in the Gambles race because I pushed in to deep. Now when I stage the car, I light the top bulb and before pumping up the brakes I use the line lock to hold the pressure and that works great. Then I release the line lock and stage and the brakes hold.

The first race of the year at PDP, I didn't use my new brakes in the frist round and took the strip by .013. I was to busy looking back and not paying attention to the finish line. I bought back in and went to the Quarters where I red lighted.

I made an Air Box and put it on the car. I hope it will help the car more consistent...

4/28/2002
The first time out to NTR for the year to try out the Air Box, the winds were around 50 mph. The car was very consistent, but more testing to come... Also got some video

The car is in the shop getting ready to back half it. It will come out with 14" x 32" M/T on it and it should be 2 - 3" lower in the back. I should have some project pictures real soon...

6/2/2002
Here are some pictures of the Backhalf Project, it should be done in a week or two... (CLICK HERE) Many thanks goes out to Plastic Suppliers, Slip-Tech, Inc. and Carl...

The 12-Bolt is from a 1970 Impala and has 11" brakes. It will be set-up with Moser axles and spool with 4.88 gears. Also, it will have an UItimate-12 LPW cover and 5/8" wheel studs. It will be 42 1/2" drum to drum. The rims are 15" x 14" with 4 1/2" back spacing.

You can see from the pictures that I had to open up the wheel opening in the front about 1 1/2" to get the tire to fit.

More pictures on the next page...
